Baby Bradford

Ok so it's official. We are going to have a baby! Yes, Brian and Shannon are going to be parents...And how am I feeling...a little freaked out! AHHHH! I did not believe it until we actually went to the doctor. I had to ask the nurse if Shannon really was pregnant and she said, oh yes, it is a certainty! Is this really happening? Apparently so, and we are pumped, yet nervous. Shannon has had morning sickness about every day for 2 weeks now...definitely not fun and I want to fix everything but cannot. Thus, pretty frustrating for me at times because I want to make everything better for her. She is tired a lot and nauseated. But I hear that comes with the territory. Anyways, if you think of it, pray for her and us and the baby that all will go well. And if you have any pre-parenting advice, especially for me, let me know that as I can use all I can get.

Brian ... that is awesome news! I know that you two will be great parents. As for the sickness thing that Shannon has, Sue and I will pray for you both. Sue was sick for all three of our boys and there was little that I could do to help. Have Shannon call Sue if she wants. Sue has experienced it!!! She might be able to give some advice! Love ya!

Brian-
I just happened upon your blog through Shelly Buck (we grew up in the same church)...and I wanted to say congrats!

I wanted to pass along hints to help Shannon - because the first time around all anyone told me was to eat crackers before getting out of bed. Try chewing peppermint gum...peppermint is good for the stomach and it just seems to hit the spot when I felt queasy (which unfortunately has not left yet). Also, have her try lemon italian ice - I found it kind of numbed my stomach when I was feeling really bad, wasn't as heavy as ice cream, and not as watery as popsicles. I have other small hints, but don't want to take up your whole blog :) You can always email if she wants more :) :)

Anyway, congrats...we are excited for you!!
Michelle

Congraulations!!! How exciting.

I'm not a parent but the one tip I can give you is something my mom told me when I was younger and reminded me in college- "Remember who you are and whos you are"

congrats guys.
One day I'm going to write a book called "What to expect when your wife's expecting". It'll be a lot funnier than the classic "what to expect when you're expcting" that every pregnant woman clings to on the first run. This one's for the guys, or the friends of the guys :)
Have fun!

You and Shannon will be great parents!
My only advice is this...hire Racheal Rickabaugh as your babysitter. haha seriously

Brian and Shannon - this is Josh and Cammie Delph! First - congratulations!! That is so wonderful about the baby! You're going to love being parents. Second - just wanted to say hey and all that "stuff". We see you're back in Marion, and wanted to tell you that we're moving back to IN in 3 weeks! We'll be living in Tipton for awhile, but probably an Indy suburb after that. Drop us a line if you get a chance!

Brian B said...

Josh - Hey man, if you get a chance, stop in Marion and I will show you a funny video of us in Bowman our freshmen year...and yes, you are on there! Hilarious!

Brian:

Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you and Shannon. I agree, you'll make a great Dad and Shannon will make a great Mom also. You two were so good with Micah so I know you'll be even better with your own.

We miss seeing you and Shannon. I hope you're doing well at your two positions. We'll be in Marion in June. Maybe we can see you then. In fact, we need a place to stay for a couple of nights, but even if we don't stay with you, we want to stop by and see you at that time. Dave would love to hang out with you while I'm attending meetings at IWU (for women only).

Again, loads of congrats. We miss you,
Cindy
